Tinubu Fails to Show Up At Extraordinarily Predicted ‘combat’ With Holyfield

The country wide chief of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, on Friday, did not attend the noticeably predicted bout in opposition to former Heavyweight world Boxing Champion, Evander Holyfield.

The bout became part of events organised to mark Lagos States 50th anniversary celebrations.

Tinubu sent an apology to the target market and Holyfield via Lagos kingdom Governor, Akinwumi Ambode, who represented him.

Ambode, at approximately 10.30pm, stated Tinubu could not make it due to a “national challenge.”

Reacting, Tinubu’s Media aide, Tunde Rahman, stated “there has been no embarrassment of any shape there due to the fact Gov. Ambode stood in for him. Don’t overlook this became a charity occasion”.

“Asiwaju Tinubu had hosted Evander Holyfield in his Bourdillon, Ikoyi residence where he dressed him up like an Eyo Masquerade, which the former heavyweight champion said he could cherish all his existence.

“Asiwaju Tinubu prepared elaborately for the day. He had unusual exercise session and training periods. but simply then while he became set for the Landmark occasion Centre for the notably-especially-expected bout, some country wide exigency emerged that he wished to take care of”, leading edge quoted him as saying.

Noble laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka become intended to be the referee for the bout.
